Morocco is a feast for the senses. The sights, sounds, smells, tastes, colours and experiences of this country are like no other!
Morocco is a truly unique country, where you can step back in time to experience centuries old culture, that is a mix of Berber, Arabic, Andalusian, Mediterranean, French, Moorish and African. These influences are seen in everything from the architecture to the food, the culture and the Moroccan people.
Moroccan Escapes and I will take you on a journey to safely explore this wondrous country - to experience the warmth of its people, the ancient trades, the cuisine, the markets, the tiled palaces, the history, culture, music, handicrafts, current artists and so much more.
I will help you to capture your memories through quick, simple, vibrant travel sketches. We will capture the feeling and essence of Morocco that a photograph can’t always do. Your sketches (like your memories) will be unique to you.
We will sketch every day, and I can guide you in the creation of your sketch as much or as little as you want. Sketching gives us the opportunity to “stop and smell the roses”, to be creative and observant, while we put together a vibrant little drawing of Moroccan daily life. All level of sketchers are welcome on this trip - from complete novices, to experienced sketchers.
But it’s not all about sketching! There is plenty of free time in every day as well, to explore, rest and experience the local area on your own, or with the new friends that you will make on this trip. We always like to meet up at the end of the day, to swap stories and enjoy a delicious meal together, to live like a local even if it’s just for a day.

'the best travel company'
Moroccan Escapes is the easiest and by far the best travel company I have ever booked with, and Heather the owner, is an absolute rock star! From first contact to last day on tour Heather is there for you, making sure you have the best experience possible. Forget the western style hotels (except Casablanca) Heather has hand picked the most beautiful riads where the only word you can say as you walk through the door is 'wow'. An oasis from the streets outside, each one different, you feel like you're truly experiencing the authentic and exotic Morocco. In fact the whole trip felt like that. 'Heather has a passion and love for Morocco'
I have recently returned from the most amazing trip to Morocco with Heather from Moroccan Escapes. Heather has a passion and love for Morocco and it shows. Her local knowledge allows her to select the best locations to give that luxurious, exotic, wow factor that makes for an unforgettable experience. Felt like a princess on my trip. And I couldn’t stop saying wow at every riad that we stayed at. The riads were amazing. She also included a few unique experiences such as a cooking class with a local family that included going to the market to get the food. It was a lovely way to get to know the real people of Morocco. Also enjoyed my camel ride on the beach at sunset at Essaouria. Nothing was too much trouble for Heather and she is a beautiful person. I was part of a Sketching group and our trip was tailor-made for us and I thoroughly enjoyed all of our experiences. I highly recommend Heather and Moroccan Escapes for your Moroccan adventure.
